I've got both the 2.5 inch desheder and a 4 inch regular FURminator. I have two large pups that need to be desheded often. The 4 inch does a great job for most of the work and I use the smaller one for the thighter, more sensetive areas. But I've found that you really don't need the ejector since the fur is very easy to get off either of the tools with just a simple swipe of the fingers. So, to me. the the tool works very well but the additional cost of the desheder isn't needed.

I was reluctant to spend so much on a brush for my cat but after daily vacuuming decided I would give the FURminator a try. It is so GREAT. I couldn't believe the amount of hair that came off of him - a pile almost the size of him of white fluffy fine hair and he still has a lot left (I'm not quite sure where it's all coming from). It doesn't take as much hair from my Goldendoodle but then he doesn't shed. Well worth the money.

I have three short-haired cats and they all love the Zoom Groom and the Furminator. I use the Zoom Groom to loosen the hair first, and then raked up the loose hair with the Furminator. The Furminator all by itself did not get rid of all of the loose hair. (I discovered this fact after I used the Furminator first, and then the Zoom Groom just to see if there was any loose hair left and there was plenty.) I suggest you get both of these products. The Zoom Groom is messy if you use it all by itself. You get gobs of loose hair so it's nice to have the Furminator to clean it all up. The job goes twice as fast with both tools.

This is an amazing tool. I would highly recommend this grooming tool to anyone who has a pet who sheds in the house. Since we started using the FURminator to groom him, the amount of hair on the floor in the house has decreased by 90%. The first time we used it we got nearly a shopping bag of hair from him. He looks better, and I am happy about not having to constantly vacuum the hair in the house. The FURejector feature of the tool is very convenient, as it speeds up the grooming process.
